The ‘the encounter between the Portuguese and theJapanese’ happened in the middle of 1550’s. The Portuguese maritime expansion tothe Orient confronted the final stage with this connection. In this sense, itcan be considered as the origin of ‘globalization.’ However some problems arestill left without solving. Can we really interprete it in this way? How wasthe concrete image of their encounter? As issues for the future, I intended toshare knowldge about this topic.A small literature search at ArquivoNacional Torre do Tombo followed the attendance to the Conference. Althoughthis archives open great amout of document in public on their internet site, some documents about the seedtime of Macao are not yet.
