概要:A multi-phase comprehensive method for the design of hybrid cellular manufacturing (HCM) system is presented in this paper. The initial phase aims at categorizing parts to be produced on the cellular or the functional layout facilities of the system. Second and third phases show a mathematical approach with two inter-related models, where the first is to determine the formation of cells and the second is to eliminate the exceptional elements. Lastly the capability of the approach was demonstrated by applying it to an industrial example.

概要:In this paper, we proposed a novel recommendation model based the synergistic use of knowledge from repository which includes users behavior and items property. This model defined user profile and item profile, and constructed the candidate recommendation set by using Formal Concept Analysis and extended inference. We attempted to apply FCA mapping the relationship between user's preference and item feature, and conducted a case to illustrate the proposed model. Finally, we summarized the advantage of this model and discussed the recommendation strategy for different situation. ©2010 IEEE.

概要:We propose a method for solving the crew rescheduling problem (CRP) and the vehicle rescheduling problem (VRP) based on the Lagrangian relaxation method. The CRP/VRP is formulated as an integer programming problem on the basis of a network flow modeling approach from which a Lagrangian relaxation problem is constructed by relaxing the constraint that covers multiple resources. Using two procedures that generate the upper and lower bounds of the primal problem, both of which utilize an efficient shortest path algorithm for the directed acyclic graph (DAG), the proposed method gradually improves the gap between the upper and lower bounds while updating Lagrangian multipliers. Results of real-world vehicle rescheduling data from a Japanese railway line indicate that the proposed method generates a feasible solution within a practical amount of time, which is confirmed to be fairly close to the optimum according to the gap and a comparison with the heuristic solution method. © 2010 IEEE.

The challenge of this problem is that there are several trade-off between time constraint and cost constraint. 概要:A Negotiable Evolutionary Algorithm (NEA) meta-heuristic approach is presented in this paper for solving the Integrated Production Planning and Scheduling (IPPS) problem in Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS). The NEA approach addresses the rationales that we have identified as the key features required for effectively solving complex IPPS problems. Considerable experiments have been conducted and the results have confirmed that NEA outperforms the conventional EA approach. © 2010 IEEE.

概要:In this paper, we reviewed the major problems in the existing recommender systems and presented a tracking recommender approach based on user's behavior information and two-level property of items. Our proposed approach defined user profile model, knowledge resources model and constructed Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) mapping to guide a personalized recommendation for user. We simulated a prototype recommender system that can make the quality recommendation by tracking user's behavior. The experimental result showed our strategy was more robust against the drawbacks and preponderant than conventional recommender systems. © 2010 IEEE.

概要:This paper proposed a design approach for evaluating the feasibility of Reconfigurable Equipment Behavior (REB) based on the Extendable Petri Nets Framework (EPNF). The approach can analyze equipment scenarios through developing and usage phases. Most importantly, EPNF is fully automatic to build a Petri nets (PNs) model according to equipment scenarios of Unified Modeling Language (UML). Moreover, it also can enhance efficiency of production system. Adopting a cluster tool (CT) of semiconductors was presented as a case study to illustrate the proposed approach.

概要:An efficient and optimized Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) operation plays a critical role in improving the performance of a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). Among the main elements in the implementation of AGV is task scheduling. This is due to the fact that efficient scheduling would enable the increment of productivity and reducing delivery cost whilst optimally utilizes the entire fleet. In this research, Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) is used to optimize simultaneous machines and AGVs scheduling process with makespan minimization function. It is proven that the method is capable to provide better solution compared to others.

Toward affective recommendation: A contextual association approach for eliciting user preference

概要:The explosive growth of recommender systems has resulted in realization of individualized service as commercial patterns and research prototypes. However, the traditional recommendation approaches are overemphasized the similarity between user preference and items feature. They are completely ignored affectivity that was a crucial factor. Our study focuses on exploring a new affective recommendation approach of semantic associated extension by integrating the Spreading Activation model with knowledge of cognitive psychology for the real-time preference-aware. This paper presents an affectivity-based recommendation approach to eliciting a characteristic sequence consisted of color nodes mapping the relationships between user preference with his mood and items feature. Predominance of our proposal was illustrated through an instantiation of movie recommender system that was developed based on the proposed approach. The testing results of performance show that our affectivity-based recommendation approach outperformed the traditional collaborative filtering approach in terms of the accuracy. This paper also presents a novel insight into exploitation of rich repository of domain-specific knowledge to provide real-time recommendation for user. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:The world of commerce is becoming increasingly competitive due to the lack of resources and importance of environmental awareness. Hence, most enterprises begin to focus on product re-usage. This practice however is facing many challenges before its potentials can be fully exploited. The work presented in this paper tackles the development of efficient capacity planning policies for remanufacturing facilities in closed-loop supply chains. The case under study is analyzed through a simulation model based on the system dynamics methodology. More precisely, we focused on studying how to evaluate alternative long-term capacity planning policies using simulation model to obtain maximum profit. Validation and numerical experimentation further illustrate the applicability of the approach presented in this paper. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:During the past several years, there has been a significant amount of research conducted simultaneous multiple resources scheduling problem (SMRSP) Intelligence manufacturing based on meta-heuristics, such as genetic algorithms (GAs), simulated annealing (SA) particle swarm optimization(PSO), has become a common tool to find satisfactory solutions within reasonable computational times in real settings. However, there are few researches considering interdependent relation during the decision activities, moreover for complex and large problems, local constraints and objectives from each managerial entity cannot be effectively represented in a single model for complex and large problems. In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative Bayesian optimization algorithm (COBOA) undertaking divide-and-conquer strategy and co-evolutionary framework. Considerable experiments are conducted and the results confirmed that COBOA outperforms recent researches for the scheduling problem in FMS. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:With the prosperity of e-commerce, the recommendation service rises rapidly due to its significant performance on promotion of consumer satisfaction level and sales. On one hand, it helps the consumer to find the suitable products in a much easier way. On the other, it explores the potential need of the consumer therefore steps up the deal. In order to make improvement on user stickiness, the recommendation system is now recognized as a vital role in intensive competition. However, it has an obvious weakness when helping consumers choose high-tech products where it requires much strict technical knowledge and it is not effective to recommend new products due to the lack of ratings. This research provides a new recommendation method related to high-tech products based on consumer's preference with less complexity and more effectiveness. It aims to make the new products equivalent to the old ones during the computing process therefore improve the effectiveness of new product recommendation. © 2012 IEEE.

As for the owner of the charging machines, how to make the charging jobs' schedule more efficient and more profitable is worthy of concern. Both cost related goals and operation related goals are expected to be satisfied simultaneously. This paper considered a single-machine charging job scheduling problem and proposed a fuzzy goal programming method to get an optimized cost and operational result by considering the different charging cost brought by Time-of-use price mechanism and the characteristic of batteries, which affects the charging process time, charging efficiency and charging unit power consumption. In the proposed method, a fuzzy relation model is developed to deal with the multi-objective situation to satisfy various goals, by considering the importance relation between goals. The intention of the decision maker is satisfied well. The decision maker can control the parameter to balance the emphasis on goals or on relations according to variety of manage policy. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2012 IEEE.

概要:This paper presents a hybrid recommendation approach that is used for discovering potential information with multidimensional clustering in recommender systems. This facilitates to obtain user groups for improving effectiveness and diversity of recommendation. The proposed algorithm works in three phases. In first phase, user groups are collected in the form of user profile, which applied multidimensional clustering algorithm and stored in the database for future recommendation. In second phase, the appropriate clusters are chosen using pruning of clusters. In third phase, the recommendations are generated for target user with similarity measures and quality rating prediction. The performance of proposed approach is evaluated using a public movie dataset and compared with two representative recommendation algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed approach performs superiorly and alleviates problems, such as cold-start and data sparsity in collaborative filtering recommendation. © 2012 IEEE.

概要:Stochastic Constraint Programming is an extension of Constraint Programming for modeling and solving combinatorial problems which involve uncertainty in real world. Evolved Parameterized Policies (EPP) is the first incomplete approach to stochastic constraint problems which has higher performance rather than other methods, but still seems non-practical for large multi-stage problems due to scenarios exponentially growing. We proposed new resampling method called IDGAS based on Noisy GAs and other Evolutionary Computation algorithms, which aim to ensure the reliability while keeping in high search performance. In experiments on credit portfolio management with multi-stage, it performed more effective than conventional EPP and other resampling methods. © 2012 IEEE.

概要:In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the sensor nodes and its central node are located some distance apart to ensure good coverage over the concerning area. However, the communication distance between sensor nodes is directly proportional to power consumption, and the ultimate effective point-to-point distance is nevertheless limited. To overcome this problem, a cluster based layout formation and an message routing algorithm among the head node of each cluster are suggested to ensure a WSN achieve good coverage, balance workload and traffic-load, and prolong the overall network lifetime. In this paper, we use a Negotiable Evolutionary Algorithm (NEA) to solve the complex multi-object WSN layout and signal routing problem. Experiment result shows that NEA is an effective approach for solving the problem. © 2012 IEEE.

概要:In this paper, we present a hybrid recommendation approach for discovering potential preferences of individual users. The proposed approach provides a flexible solution that incorporates multidimensional clustering into a collaborative filtering recommendation model to provide a quality recommendation. This facilitates to obtain user clusters which have diverse preference from multi-view for improving effectiveness and diversity of recommendation. The presented algorithm works in three phases: data preprocessing and multidimensional clustering, choosing the appropriate clusters and recommending for the target user. The performance of proposed approach is evaluated using a public movie dataset and compared with two representative recommendation algorithms. The empirical results demonstrate that our proposed approach is likely to trade-off on increasing the diversity of recommendations while maintaining the accuracy of recommendations. © 2012 IEEE.

概要:We propose a new hybrid recommendation algorithm to optimization the cold-start problem with Collaborative Filtering (CF). And we use neighborhood-based collaborative filtering algorithm has obtained great favor due to simplicity, justifiability, and stability. However, when faced with large-scale, sparse, or noise affected data, nearest-neighbor collaborative filtering performs not so well, as the calculation of similarity between user or item pairs is costly and the accuracy of similarity can be easily affected by noise and sparsity. We introduce a new model comprising both In the training stage, user-item and film-item relationships in recommender systems, and describe how to use algorithm generates recommendations for cold-start items based on the preference model. Our experiments model provides a relatively efficient and accurate recommendation technique.

概要:© 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.This paper presents a Markov network based multi-objective estimation distribution of algorithm (MMEDA) to solve the resource constrained scheduling problem (RCSP), which hybrid a constraint handling by Markov network based EDA and multi-objective optimization by enforced EDA. Firstly, in order to increase the searching performance while keeping the diversity of Pareto solutions, two kinds of fitness assignment functions are integrated within a novel paradigm. Secondly, Markov network, as an undirected graph model, is adopted to model interrelation between variables with constraints. Thirdly, an enforced EDA with mutation operation is proposed to handle the scheduling. Fourthly, a problem-specific local search for RCSP is applied to improve searching performance. Experiments are conducted on multi-mode resource constrained scheduling problem (MRCPSP) which is an extended RCSP including multi-mode resource constraints. The results of the proposed method highly outperformed conventional meta-heuristic based scheduling methods.

概要:Limited working capital is a frequent constraint in corporate procurement decision. However, small size and start-up firms often have difficulty accessing financing from banks directly, due to their lack of guarantees. In this case, Supply Chain Finance (SCF) is undoubtedly a good choice as a means of substituting for lower credit availability. For the purpose of reducing loan risk and increasing expected return of bank when implementing SCF, this article studies inventory finance model and build an optimization mathematical model. Furthermore, this article does series sensitivity analysis on key parameters such as default probability and the market price of collateral by simulating. The result shows that inventory finance can extend credit to downstream enterprise and benefits all members of the chain.

Classification is the learning task by using historical examples to make model of conditions to make decision of unseen example. To improve decision in MLC. We can use advantage of domination analysis or dependency relations between the classes by using enhanced Bayesian Chain Classifier (BCC). We introduce an approach for chaining classifier primary order by its individual label accuracy priority (LPC-CC). Our method considers the dependencies among label based on label accuracy priority ordering. Thus, Binary Relevance (BR) theoretical is used for label sequencing priority, and cycle classifiers chain using nave Bayes is for finding domination. The model have been tested on 2 well-known benchmark datasets named Yeast and Emotions and a collection of car sell records from a Thailand Automotive Company.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.Virtual Cellular Manufacturing system (VCMs) is investigated as an alternative approach to implement cellular manufacturing system, which featured in form cells temporary and logical. The configuration of virtual cells is a complex and time consuming NP-hard problem. This paper aims to design an effective methodology to form novel virtual cells and operation take care of allocation of shared machines and batch size of parts. A genetic algorithm is developed in two steps to find a shared machine location and optimal batch size of cell configuration that the whole manufacturing system has minimized total make span. The proposed method was implemented on a case study dataset to examine its feasibility and efficiency by comparing its performance to Cellular Manufacturing system (CMs) and conventional VCMs configuration method.

Due to the OEM operation nature of injection mold industry, product standardization is difficult and market demands request short production lead time. Today, SMEs(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) in injection mold industry seeks more efficient production process which can decrease lead time and cost by improving utilization of automated production equipment. However, compared to the other industries, injection mold industry become to be more specialized internationally and those manufacturing process needs tight data sharing and correlation between each process. Then project risk management becomes more important because multiple processes progress simultaneously with globally distributed manner with more uncertain conditions. In this paper, a project risk management method based on Bayesian Network model is proposed for accurate prediction of job completion time and preventing delay of delivery. Bayesian Network model is used as a probabilistic prediction tool to find risk of project delay and its root cause with means of measuring and monitoring performance of project progress.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.Inspired by the cooperative co-evolutionary paradigm, this paper presents a two-stage algorithm hybrid generic algorithm (GA) and multi-objective Markov network based EDA (MMEDA), to solve the robust scheduling problem for resource constrained scheduling problem (RCSP) with uncertainty. In the first stage, GA is used to find feasible solution for sequencing sub-problem, and in the second stage, MMEDA is adopted to model the interrelation for resource allocation and calculate the Pareto set for multi-objective optimization problems. One problem-specific local search with considering both makespan and robustness is designed to increase the solution quality. Experiment results based on a benchmark and comparisons demonstrate that our approach is highly effective and tolerant of uncertainty.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.In the product design, consumer preferences analysis is very helpful for consumer products design. One of the most important factors for a consumer's purchasing decision is a products exterior design. Products exterior design is dependent on sensibility of designer to demonstrate the features and functionalities of products. Hence, how to develop products exterior design which motivate consumers' affective responses on consumers' concerns is of great importance exterior design manufacturers. To understand contributing factors of products exterior for consumer's purchasing decision, this paper proposed to use conjoint analysis technique with Kansei Engineering System (KES) scheme. Conjoint analysis technique is used to determine what features of product exterior design which attracts consumers' concerns. The target of conjoint analysis is to obtain utility scores that represents factors of products exterior design, hence based on its score, it can be concluded which of the attributes of products exterior design more attract consumers' concerns in purchasing decision. This paper proposed novel method to analyze factors of products exterior design that reflect consumer purchasing concerns toward new products. First of all, questionnaires relating to kansei words which represents consumers' concerns with a new product exterior design were prepared. From 50 respondents answers for the questionnaires, 12 pairs of kansei word considered to represent consumer desire and/or concerns with the new product exterior design were extracted. After that, several features of the product exterior design, such as shape, product size, material, color and accessories, had prepared previously were combined with 12 pairs of the kansei word in order to get the attribute of the product exterior design which are considered to affect consumers' purchasing decision. The final result, we got Kansei word of "Contemporary - Conventional" is more considered by consumer as purchasing decision.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.Cloud storage becomes popular, but low data-access performance through WANs (wide area networks) is becoming an issue. A cloud-storage cache, called "cloud on-ramp" (CoR), located at remote offices and connected to the cloud storage at a data center is proposed. Users access the CoR, which stores frequently accessed data as a cache, through a LAN (local area network). In this way, the CoR can improve access performance in case of cache hits, however, delays due to cache misses are a challenge because the data need to be transferred through a WAN. Accordingly, to ensure that applications have reliable access to data (even in the case of a cache miss), a recall method called "partial recall" is proposed. The method is formulated by utilizing a stochastic Petri-net model, and its data access performance improvement is evaluated in comparison with a conventional method through Petri-net simulation.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.With the rapid growth of electric energy consumption and environmental concerns, renewable energy resources, power quality and reliability, has become the fields of interest for many researchers. By integrating renewable energy resources such as wind and solar power into a power microgrid (PMG), we can give consideration to both sides of environmental issue and energy independency. A PMG is a localized grouping of electricity generation units, energy storage devices and loads, within which, power can be generated locally to reduce dependence on long distance transmission lines and cut transmission losses. The point of coupling with traditional centralized grid can be disconnected, so that PMG can function autonomously to ensure high reliability in case of blackouts in traditional grid. But wind and solar power are easily affected by weather condition so that uncertainty has been introduced into this economic optimal dispatching (EOD) problem. To deal with power shortage or violation of technical limitations, a PMG model containing battery as an energy buffer is built and a chance-constrained programming (CCP) based particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is proposed in this paper to solve the economic optimal dispatching problem.

概要:During the past several years, a large number of studies have been conducted in the area of flexible job shop problems. Intelligent manufacturing planning and scheduling solutions that are based on meta-heuristic methods, such as the simulated annealing and particle swarm optimization, have become common techniques for finding satisfactory solutions within reasonable computational times in real scenarios. However, only a limited number of studies have analyzed the effects of interdependent relationships associated with various decision factors considered for the complex problems. This paper presents a Markov network based estimation of distribution algorithm to address the flexible job shop scheduling problem. The proposal uses a subclass of estimation of distribution algorithms where the effects between decision variables are represented as an undirected graph model. Furthermore, a critical path-based local search method is adopted by the proposed algorithm to achieve better performance. We present an empirical validation for the proposal by applying it to solve various benchmark flexible job shop problems.

概要:In reality, several types of uncertainties should be considered for production scheduling, and robust scheduling is a method that enable uncertainty to be taken into account. In this paper, an enhanced technique of robust scheduling in manufacturing system is proposed to handle uncertain processing times factor. Effectiveness of the proposed technique is evaluated through a case study of Flexible Job-Shop scheduling problem (FJSP) with uncertain job processing time. This paper proposes a robust scheduling method of FJSP which consists of hybridized Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) named HGABPSO. It utilizes scenarios of routing and sequences to find schedules that are confident and less sensitive against processing time uncertainties. A bi-objective evaluation measure of robust schedule is defined as minimizing the expected makespan under possible scenarios and also minimizing variability of it. Computational results indicated that the proposed method produces better solutions in comparison with a conventional method regarding the measure of robustness under different problem sizes and different levels of uncertainty for job processing time.

概要:Scheduling for the flexible job shop is very important in both fields of production management and combinatorial optimization. However, when we attempt to formulate job shop scheduling problems which closely describe and represent the real world problem, various factors involved are often imprecisely or ambiguously known to the analyst. Also, in the real situations, machines are not continuously available due to preventive maintenance activity. Besides, in the production system, there are many users and machines in various priorities. Often, user satisfactions, machine stability and schedule itself are in conflict. By considering the imprecise or fuzzy nature of the data in real world problem, job shop scheduling with uncertain processing time and machine available constraint is introduced. Under the fuzzy circumstance, we attempt to make a feasible solution for flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSSP) based on a hybrid optimization approach with multi-objective which not only to minimize the makespan, but also maximize the user satisfaction and machine stability. In the experiment, we make the comparisons with some other algorithms, such as genetic algorithm, to demonstrate the hybrid approach is much better on efficient search and stability with three benchmark examples. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to study the impact, in term of total objective, when the proportion of machine stability is varied. © 2010 IEEE.

The aim is to study how negotiation based planning processes would be used to refine locally preferred ordering patterns, which would consequently affect the overall performance of the supply chain in terms of costs and service level. Following a brief review of approaches to elucidate personalized recommendation, our research work focuses on exploring a new approach of semantically associated extension by integrating the Spreading Activation model with the knowledge of chromatology to dynamically acquire the information of user preference. We attempt to apply a characteristic sequence consisted of color nodes mapping the relationships between user mood preference and item feature and illustrated the proposed approach through an instantiation of movie recommendation. Any generation company (GenCo) has the right to join the market if they want in order that they are able to compete with each other to generate electricity for profit. Thus, they need to make decisions of which power required areas are worth choosing before sealed bid-one type of electrical bidding. However, they have uncertain information of rivals' cost. This paper proposes a semi-automatic pricing mechanism for the decision support for electricity generation companies to make bidding decisions which maximizes their profit in multi-area power grid system, and to evaluate effect of information uncertainty for decision making. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:This paper presents a mathematical model for solving a production planning (PP) problem in dynamic cell manufacturing system (DCMS) with uncertain demand. One of the characteristics of the DCMS is the reconfiguration, which is the number of machines in each manufacturing cell is allowed to change over a particular planning horizon. Consequently, the DCMS is more flexible, but complicated in determining an optimal solution, especially with the uncertain demand that confuses the accuracy of the optimization in traditional way. Therefore optimal planning time horizon is introduced as a distinguishing decision variable to handle the penalty from the uncertainty of the demand. The developed model is mixed integer non-linear equations. Numerical example is presented to show the performance of the method, where traditional DCMSs PP is employed for comparison. Improvement rate map has been drawn to illustrate the benefit zone for new method. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:This paper discusses the conceptual design of a Global Decision Support System for a manufacturing Small or Medium Enterprise (SM/E), which actively participates in Collaborative Manufacturing. In order to implement the proposed concept, a Web Services based system architecture is proposed to offer maximum interoperability between all the distributed participants of a Collaborative Manufacturing Network (CMN) and their management information systems. Furthermore, this conceptual design utilises a Collaborative decision-support model that effectively interacts with the decision-makers and the management information systems/tools exist in the network, and provides appropriate support to all necessary decision-making steps towards the attainment of the networks strategic goals, while making full benefits of the network resources. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

概要:Resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) is a well known NP hard problem. This paper proposes a hybrid approach of constraint programming (CP) and integer programming (IP) which could solve RCPSP with ideal efficiency and quality. Constraint propagation is key element of constraint programming and is widely used in cumulative resource problem (CRP). CRP can be taken as a relaxed problem of RCPSP. This paper discussed how to eliminate the resource constraint, and transform RCPSP to project scheduling problem (PSP) so that the problem will became easier. Experiment shows this hybrid approach has certain efficient advantage compared with traditional CP method.

概要:This study considers the application of a genetic algorithm (GA) to the basic vehide routing problem with tow-dimensional loading constraints (2L-CVRP). Vehicle routing problem encompasses a whole class of complex optimization problems that target the derivation of minimum total cost routes for a number of resources (vehicles, etc.) located at a central depot in order to service efficiently a number of demand customers. Several practical issues in the industry involving both production and transportation decisions are modeled as VRP instances and the hard combinatorial problems in the strong sense (NP-hard). 2L-CVRP is a generalization of the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem, in which customer demand is formed by a set of rectangular, weighted items. In this paper, computational results are given for the pure GA which is put forward. As compare with the mathematic method, we can find the advantage of using GA to solve the problem especially in large sizeproblems.

概要:© 2016 IEEE.We present an integrated Differential Evolution (DE), Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Hybrid Petri net (HPN) based approach for scheduling of a hybrid dynamical transport network operation. The main advantage of the proposed approach is a reduction of complexity in the optimization problem formulation for a system with non-linear constraints and hybrid discretecontinuous parameters and the impact of discontinuities of the search space ensued by autonomous switching of the network components. In particular the scheduling problem for a natural gas compressor station with parallel pumps is addressed in the case-study.

概要:During the past several years, a large number of studies have been conducted in the area of flexible job shop problems. Intelligent manufacturing planning and scheduling solutions that are based on meta-heuristic methods, such as the simulated annealing and particle swarm optimization, have become common techniques for finding satisfactory solutions within reasonable computational times in real scenarios. However, only a limited number of studies have analyzed the effects of interdependent relationships associated with various decision factors considered for the complex problems. This paper presents a Markov network based estimation of distribution algorithm to address the flexible job shop scheduling problem. The proposal uses a subclass of estimation of distribution algorithms where the effects between decision variables are represented as an undirected graph model. Furthermore, a critical path-based local search method is adopted by the proposed algorithm to achieve better performance. We present an empirical validation for the proposal by applying it to solve various benchmark flexible job shop problems.

概要:In reality, several types of uncertainties should be considered for production scheduling, and robust scheduling is a method that enable uncertainty to be taken into account. In this paper, an enhanced technique of robust scheduling in manufacturing system is proposed to handle uncertain processing times factor. Effectiveness of the proposed technique is evaluated through a case study of Flexible Job-Shop scheduling problem (FJSP) with uncertain job processing time. This paper proposes a robust scheduling method of FJSP which consists of hybridized Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) named HGABPSO. It utilizes scenarios of routing and sequences to find schedules that are confident and less sensitive against processing time uncertainties. A bi-objective evaluation measure of robust schedule is defined as minimizing the expected makespan under possible scenarios and also minimizing variability of it. Computational results indicated that the proposed method produces better solutions in comparison with a conventional method regarding the measure of robustness under different problem sizes and different levels of uncertainty for job processing time.

概要:This paper presents a Markov network based multi-objective estimation distribution of algorithm (MMEDA) to solve the resource constrained scheduling problem (RCSP), which hybrid a constraint handling by Markov network based EDA and multi-objective optimization by enforced EDA. Firstly, in order to increase the searching performance while keeping the diversity of Pareto solutions, two kinds of fitness assignment functions are integrated within a novel paradigm. Secondly, Markov network, as an undirected graph model, is adopted to model interrelation between variables with constraints. Thirdly, an enforced EDA with mutation operation is proposed to handle the scheduling. Fourthly, a problem-specific local search for RCSP is applied to improve searching performance. Experiments are conducted on multi-mode resource constrained scheduling problem (MRCPSP) which is an extended RCSP including multi-mode resource constraints. The results of the proposed method highly outperformed conventional meta-heuristic based scheduling methods.

概要:Scheduling for the flexible job shop is very important in both fields of production management and combinatorial optimization. However, when we attempt to formulate job shop scheduling problems which closely describe and represent the real world problem, various factors involved are often imprecisely or ambiguously known to the analyst. Also, in the real situations, machines are not continuously available due to preventive maintenance activity. Besides, in the production system, there are many users and machines in various priorities. Often, user satisfactions, machine stability and schedule itself are in conflict. By considering the imprecise or fuzzy nature of the data in real world problem, job shop scheduling with uncertain processing time and machine available constraint is introduced. Under the fuzzy circumstance, we attempt to make a feasible solution for flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSSP) based on a hybrid optimization approach with multi-objective which not only to minimize the makespan, but also maximize the user satisfaction and machine stability. In the experiment, we make the comparisons with some other algorithms, such as genetic algorithm, to demonstrate the hybrid approach is much better on efficient search and stability with three benchmark examples. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to study the impact, in term of total objective, when the proportion of machine stability is varied. © 2010 IEEE.

概要:Personalized recommender system is an indispensable application and re-shaping the world in e-commerce scopes. Following a brief review of approaches to elucidate personalized recommendation, our research work focuses on exploring a new approach of semantically associated extension by integrating the Spreading Activation model with the knowledge of chromatology to dynamically acquire the information of user preference. We attempt to apply a characteristic sequence consisted of color nodes mapping the relationships between user mood preference and item feature and illustrated the proposed approach through an instantiation of movie recommendation. This paper presents a novel insight into exploitation of rich repository of the domain-specific knowledge to elicit optimum recommendation for user. © 2011 IEEE.

概要:© 2018 by Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In almost all Japanese railway companies, rolling stock management still relies on manual procedure. As density of trains and interconnectivity between lines are increased, a support system for the management gets to be important. This paper focuses on a scheduling task for vehicle units' operation and a support system for rescheduling vehicle units' operation in train service disruption. A schedule of vehicle units' operation is modified by a dispatcher to keep consistency between train timetable and vehicle unit assignment. When there is no solution, the dispatcher has to ask a train service manager to change train timetable. To support this task, we developed an algorithm of rescheduling vehicle unit operation, which included relaxation of constraints. Our algorithm represents constraints as a network model, and, if necessary, relaxes constraints by modifying the network model during search of a solution. This paper indicates the network model, the algorithm of searching for a solution as relaxing constraints, and numerical experiments using a real middle-size data. The results of the experiments showed that our algorithm could calculate various solutions with relaxed constraints. Analyzing the solutions at the viewpoints of train service and rolling stock operation, we showed the effectiveness of a system that proposes various solutions using our algorithm.
